This branch of AIM serves as an incubator for business development. With a particular focus on businesses which seek to be a part of bringing the Kingdom of God to this region, it provides opportunities, business guidance, support and encouragement for young entrepreneurs. These businesses ‘pay it forward’ once established, allowing for healthy multiplication and an ongoing pipeline for young people interested in marketplace ministry.
“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17
AIM's Business as Mission (B.A..M.) was born as some of K-Family's children started growing up and discovering their desires to make God known in marketplace ministry. These young entrepreneurs dreamed of starting businesses as a way to disciple people and eventually 'pay it forward.' AIM seeks to come alongside such young people and equip and encourage and support them as they launch.
Sameer, Vihana and Arya all grew up in the K-family ( pictured here in 2000) and they were the first to start a business through our BAM initiative. Their thriving coffee shop/cafe is so successful that plans for expansion are now in the works. These three are now the BAM leadership team and are responsible for vetting new applicants. They also walk alongside these new entrepreneurs, ensuring their success at the early stages.
Sameer, Vihana and Arya had a vision to start a coffee shop/cafe in their city in India. The three grew up as a part of K-Family since 1999. When they realized they had similar passions, they began praying about possibilities. Sameer's love for people and processes, combined with Vihana's passion for baking and for people, and Arya's love and expertise in coffee created a beautiful team. AIM's Business As Mission approach helped these three make their dream a reality by mentoring them through the early stages and helping them map out a plan for growth. The Coffee Bean is one of the most popular cafes in their city, and plans are in the works for expansion and franchising. They are missional in every thing they do, from how they disciple their team to how they pay it forward to others in need in the AIM community.
Sonya joined the K-Family as the oldest daughter in 1999 (pictured below). Her position as Akka (older respected sister) seemed to catapult her into leadership, and she could frequently be found gathering the younger children and teaching them ABCs. She pursued an education degree in college and went on to get her Masters in the same field.
After several years of experience in teaching and leadership, Sonya expressed a desire to pioneer a school that focused on shepherding children's hearts and pointing them to Christ. AIM came alongside her and helped her get started. Green Academy is now growing every year and is a place for young children to flourish in every way.
Taram Virtual Services (TVS) was launched in 2020 by a K-family child who has subsequently moved into mission work. She passed the baton of the business to her K-Family sister Harshitha and their brother-in-law Prem. They have sensed a call to use BAM in the corporate world. (Harshitha pictured here right and below in 2001)
AIM came alongside to encourage and equip them to set up this creative venture until they were able to launch out independently. From data-mining, to social media management, to database entry work, TVS is able to offer virtual services to companies at competitive rates.
