Our Values
Prayer - Prayer is the lifebreath of all we are and all we do, as “apart from God we can do nothing.” Maintaining a personal prayer life that values intimate time with God keeps us grounded, growing, and able to hear God’s will for our work. Corporate prayer keeps us humble, passionate and regularly interceding for our families and communities.
The Bible - The Bible is the fully inspired written Word of God as contained in the Old and New Testaments. It contains all things necessary for growing in sanctification, wisdom, and love. It is living and active, and we value reading God’s word individually and in community in order to grow closer to Him.
Service - We believe that just as Jesus reached out with compassion to broken people, we are to serve those God brings to us with the same love and compassion. Living our faith out with compassionate action is a core of what we do.
Witness- Jesus calls His followers and sends them into the world as the Father sent Him into the world. In obedience to Christ we go into all the world proclaiming the gospel to and making disciples of all peoples, and showing love for God and neighbor by doing and proclaiming God’s mercy and justice.
Worship- God’s name and glory are the desire of our hearts. Active, genuine worship, individually and corporately, is a lifeline underpinning all we do.
Community-God has created and gifted us with the need for one another, to live and serve together in communities of Jesus followers. It is in these communities that the fullness of the body of Christ can best be expressed to the outside world and that we can spur one another on in the callings God has given us.
Celebration- Intentionally celebrating God’s goodness in the big and little things of life calls us to a life of gratitude and praise.
Incarnation- Jesus walked and talked and ate and lived with those He came to serve, so that He could be a living, breathing example of God’s love in their everyday lives. We similarly strive to live intentionally among the communities we serve, not setting ourselves apart but rather constantly seeking to strengthen our understanding of and love for the people to whom God has called us.
What We Believe
- There is one eternal, triune God: Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus, the Son, is the Word (Logos) of God who became flesh, and we affirm His full deity and humanity.
- Humankind is created in the image of God and intended for relationship with God. However, all humans are fallen, are under the power of sin and death, and are in need of salvation. This salvation is only in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by human effort but rather is offered to all by God’s love, mercy, and grace and received through repentance and faith in Christ.
- The Bible is the fully inspired written Word of God and is the standard for faith and life, containing all things necessary for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
- During His earthly ministry, Jesus demonstrated, taught, and proclaimed the Kingdom of God, which will be fulfilled at the return of Christ. It will be marked by ultimate victory over death, Satan, and all evil.
- The Holy Spirit exists to glorify Jesus and to accomplish God’s saving work in those who repent and believe. The Spirit enables Christ-like transformation and repentance from sin, and empowers believers with spiritual gifts for witness and service as we are called to follow Jesus and join Him in His kingdom work.
